Why bother? In need of motivation?

Sometimes I write my blog posts and wonder 'are these really making an impact?' 'Will I just not bother?' 'Do people actually read them? Are they too busy?'

And then wonderful things happen. I get an email from someone saying they are feeling better for the first time in a long time or someone comments that drinking more water is now an integral part of their day or I meet someone who tells me their Mother waits every Tuesday to start her new change. How wonderful! This usually sets me right back on track! This weekend 2 of my friends told me they made one of my recipes and loved it and also they use my sleep meditation to help them sleep better. What fantastic feedback.

I set out to start this blog with one aim and one aim only. To help people. That's it. I don't make money from this, I don't want to advertise products or sell things to get more likes, I don't want to dilute what I believe in just to get more followers or contradict myself because I'm getting paid to recommend a product that I actually don't use. I just want to share my journey and pass on as many of my learnings to you as possible.

It's hard when you spend a few hours writing and researching a post to then see that of your almost 1500 followers only 57 people have seen the post and only 1 person liked it. Sometimes it gets disheartening. But that's the nature of the Social Media beast. They want you to pay for advertising and so purposefully hide your posts from your followers. The more people who like them and comment on them the more people who see it. And I must remember that I too often read something and think 'That's great' but then don't comment or like it! It's just the way it is.

But it is made all the more worthwhile as soon as you get a private mail or comment letting you know you helped someone and from now on that will be my motivation. I must remember that! I've had comments and questions from people I see everyday right to people in places like America, Japan and even India.

Please feel free to share this page, share posts, recipes and funny pictures with your friends if you feel they too will benefit. Knowledge becomes wisdom when shared!
